Jay D's Single Origin Coffee is sourced from the mountains around El Naranjito in the Dominican Republic. The coffee plants are shade-grown and the farms are transitioning to organic certification. The raw beans are imported into the United States through direct trade which allows the farmers to make enough money to reinvest in the land and farming practices. After arriving in Baton Rouge, they are roasted at Cafeciteaux Coffee Roasters to a medium finish. The result is the authentic flavor of Dominican coffee. Milk chocolate and nutmeg round out a very unique coffee with hints of fig fruitiness. Other flavors that have been suggested are citrus, toffee, creme brûlée, and hot toddy.
